Diversity and inclusion
At Nobina, every employee should be able to be open about who they are and be welcomed as a unique individual. Everyone should have the same rights, obligations and opportunities, whether it is to get a job or to make their voice heard. In other words, everyone should feel included. We measure the perception of inclusion in our employee survey.
Diversity for us means that, based on our background, personality, knowledge and experience, within the framework of our values, we think in different ways and complement each other. We believe that everyone's combined experience is important for us as individuals, our teams and us as a company to grow and develop. We are proud that diversity and inclusion is an important part of our everyday life.
Our work on diversity and inclusion
-
Our work environment
To stay at the forefront of our work-environment initiatives, we carry out annual risk assessments to identify, plan and implement improvements that promote equal opportunities, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, ethnicity, religion or belief, disability, sexual orientation or age. The assessments are based on employee discussions about inappropriate treatment and on our employee survey, where everyone can anonymously share how they experience their work environment.
-
Inclusive leadership
We provide training in inclusive leadership to all leaders and key roles at Nobina Sweden. The aim is to make even better use of the diversity within the company to achieve stronger results together. Inclusive leadership at Nobina means working for a workplace where everyone can succeed, regardless of their background.
-
Mentoring programme
Nobina’s commitment to diversity and inclusion extends beyond our own workplace. We are a proud partner of Mitt Liv AB, whose vision is to create an inclusive society and a labour market that values diversity. Through the Mitt Livs Chans mentoring programme, selected employees mentor graduates with international backgrounds who lack employment that matches their education. The aim is to support mentees as they enter the Swedish labour market and work within their field of expertise.
-
ESF funding
From December 2019 to October 2021, Nobina received funding from the European Social Fund for its inclusion work. The funding supported inclusive-leadership training and a digital language course for employees. Through the Lingio language app, Nobina employees can access a digital course that improves bus drivers’ professional Swedish. Improved language skills strengthen communication both between employees and with passengers.
